Charles James -Beyond Fashion Exhibit at MET

This is an exhibit I had been planning to attend for months.  My friend, Dayanne (http://www.dayannedanier.com)  and I  decided to go yesterday after our shopping trip in the #fashion district for trims and supplies.

Never imagined the splendor of the exhibit until we stepped off the elevator at the #MET(metropolitanmuseumofart) yesterday into this dimly lit room on the 1st floor of the MET.   It felt as though we were entering  a fabulous event with exquisite ball gowns everywhere.   Charles James was truly a genius at constructing ball gowns.  They reminded me of sculptures, and also very #architectural in a way I had not seen before.  The use of the video animation added another dimension that was brilliant.  If you have not seen this exhibit you still have until 8/10 to check it out.    Below are some of the few shots I took.

Don't forget to visit the ground level, Anna Wintour Costume Center to see more about Charles James design process, evening/dinner wear and nicely tailor coats.
